Indigenous Use: Recommended as a health food for arteriosclerosis and high cholesterol.
Other Uses: Tea made from corn silk used for bladder problems and cystitis, gonorrhea and gout. Seeds contain a wound-healing agent: allantoin. Known for healing irradiated tissue.
Preparation: Make tea by placing pouring one cup of boiling water over one teaspoon of dried corn silk. Take twice a day. Steep for five minutes and then strain.
Availability: Common everywhere. Buy or grow organic.
