Medicine: Wild Comfrey (Cynoglossum virginianum)

Indigenous Use: Cherokees used root tea to improve memory. Caution not to confuse the leaves with those of foxglove, which is deadly poisonous or common comfrey.
Other Uses: Also used for cancer and itching of genitals.
Preparation: Make tea by boiling one teaspoon of wild comfrey root for twenty minutes. Strain and let it cool.
Availability: Common in North America (Not readily available by herbal supplier). Other herbs available through herbal suppliers but not native to North America are Ginko Biloba and Rosemary. Substitute: Comfrey — Symphytum officinale.
