Indigenous Use: Evening Primrose seeds are rich in oil and contain gammalinolenic acid (GLA), which can improve the body’s ability to reduce inflammation and increase the flow of blood.
Other Uses: The Iroquois used it as a topical wash for hemorrhoids. A tea made from this herb is a remedy for coughs, depression, and digestive problems.
Preparation: Crush the seeds to make oil. You can make an ointment adding the oil to petroleum jelly.
