Bearberry is strongly astringent. The Okanagan-Colville Indians drank a tonic combining it with Oregon grape. Other Uses: Also used for bronchitis, gonorrhea, diarrhea, and to stop bleeding. Preparation: Make tea by boiling one cup of water containing one teaspoon of Uva-ursi. Bring to boil and simmer for fifteen minutes, strain and cool. Take a quarter cup up to three times daily.
