Indigenous Use: Valerian is a sedative used for treating nervous conditions and insomnia.
Other Uses: Root used topically to treat wounds.
Preparation: Make tea by pouring two cups of water over chopped root. Soak for at least eight hours. Drink one cup before going to bed.
