Indigenous Use: An expectorant that is effective in treating asthma and bronchitis.
Other Uses: Native Americans applied root poultices externally to boils, infections and wounds.
Preparation: You can make tea by pouring one cup of boiling water over two teaspoons of powdered spikenard root. Brew for thirty minutes and then strain.
