Indigenous Use: The Cherokee and Iroquois used burdock to purify blood. It is high in minerals and vitamins. As an anti-oxidant burdock removes free radicals, which are responsible for cell damage and aging.
Other Uses: Burdock also relieves stomach pains and respiratory problems.
Preparation: To make as a tea, add two cups of cold water to a teaspoon of burdock root. Bring it to a boil and simmer for thirty minutes, cool and strain. Take up to two cups a day but only a few teaspoons at a time.
